BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 5 RUSTY DREAMS – ($2.40)

The Michael Lane trained filly RUSTY DREAMS made a seamless leap to Saturday grade as she stalked the leader from a one-out position. They ran along at a good tempo with Chris Parnham going to work on the filly inside the 300m. Rusty Dreams showed a good change-up of pace as she did when resuming over six-furlongs on the Scarpside at her previous start. She ran out the 1400 metres with no problems and put the field away in smart time. She can cruise at a good tempo before building into that beautiful stride of hers once balanced. Steps out to the mile third-up and we’d love to see her settling better with those runs under her belt.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 2 FEATHERWEIGHT – ($4.25)

Chris Parnham gave first-up specialist FEATHERWEIGHT a peach of a ride to score when resuming last prep. That was over this track and trip in a RTG 72+ where Parnham somehow found the fence from the outside draw. The pair then proceeded to thread the gaps to race past Above The Peg close to the line. Luke Campbell takes the 3kg off to meet that horse better at the weights for having beaten him. Looked fresh in a recent barrier trial at Belmont where Parnham gave Featherweight a soft hitout in preparation for Saturday.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 5 STELLAR VISTA – ($7)

Simon Miller Racing mare STELLAR VISTA made a mess of the start third-up at Ascot when she went down on her nose. Patrick Carbery soon had her into stride though with the pair settling to the rear of the small field. There were plenty of horses wanting to over race in front of them as the riders dropped anchor towards the front. Stella Vista handled herself well which aided Carberry in keeping her balanced upon straightening. She finished off into the placings before scoring over 1400m at her next start. Holly Watson gave her a peach that day and has drawn to give Stella Vista an equally good ride again.
