BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.7  SPACE TRACKER  ($2.80 with Neds)

Annabel Neasham saddles-up SPACE TRACKER in the big one today and thirds-up here, looks well placed to make his Grafton debut a winning one. Last start, the Irish-sired gelding had just his second start on Australian soil when he beat all but one home in a BM78 Hcp over 1500m at Rosehill. He sat behind the leader and gave his all in the run home but had to settle for the silver medal that day. Ben Looker gets his first ride on the four-year-old as the stable fit the winkers for the first time. Already a winner when third-up and a winner over the mile trip, a trouble-free run here could see him very hard to hold out today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2:  No.6  BOCHKAREVA  ($6.50 with Ladbrokes)

The Team Edmonds-trained BOCHKAREVA travels south of the border today and fresh off a 14-week break, looks set for a big performance here. Last start, the well-bred Russian Revolution filly had just the one start where she finished fourth in a BM65 over 1000m in city class company at Eagle Farm. It was a big step-up from her Gold Coast maiden win when resuming from a six-month stint in the paddock. She has trialled twice since returning to work this time in and placed in both of them. She drops in grade today as she meets country class gallopers here and gets the gun-run from gate one for this contest. The stable fit the blinkers for the first time and with a trouble-free run, she looks a genuine winning chance today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.6  MR SEVERINO  ($5.50 with Unibet)

The Sue Grills-trained MR SEVERINO sees the Grafton track for the first time today and three starts into this preparation, he looks well placed here to bring up career win number four in this contest. Last start, the Magnus gelding was third-up and showed a ton of improvement when he took home third prize in a BM66 Hcp over the mile on a Soft 6 at Scone. Unwanted in the market ($21), Kody Nestor settling him in front where he almost stole the race, beaten a long neck on the line. Ash Morgan takes the job today and maps to settle on speed from gate three. He should be at his peak for this and with a trouble-free run here, he can go back-to-back today.
