BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.6  SIXTH GENERATION  ($2.30 with bet365)

The Jamie Richards-trained SIXTH GENERATION has won three of his past four starts and looks well placed here to bring up another victory here tonight. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding made it two-straight when he clobbered them in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1650m. Ridden a real treat by Vince Ho, he had the galloper parked two pairs back, saving ground on the fence, and on straightening, eased him out and said ‘see ya later’, crossing the line, four lengths in front of them, eased over the final stages. He steps up to Class 3 company tonight but drops 5kgs on that last-start win. Ho sticks with him after two unbeaten rides to date. He gets the gun-run from gate one here and should again prove hard to hold out.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.7  PARTY WARRIOR  ($2.80 with Palmerbet)

Francis Lui saddles-up PARTY WARRIOR here who has shown recent improvement and looks well placed here to improve even further tonight. Last start, the Contributor gelding found the podium for the first time this campaign when he finished second behind Zac Purton’s mount (Hoss) in a Class 3 contest, here over 1200m. Settling last after drawing the car park in gate 12, Vince Ho was happy to sit there, then on straightening, Ho weaved through the gaps as they appeared and inside the final 100m had taken the lead, only to be grabbed near the line by Purton on Hoss. He ran the trip out, 4.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field while posting the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Zac Purton takes the reins tonight after three previous rides on the five-year-old resulted in two wins and a close-up second. Drawn much better tonight in gate four, he should again prove hard to hold out here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3:  No.2  SPLENDID LIVING  ($2.90 with Ladbrokes)

The Ricky Yiu-trained SPLENDID LIVING has found his mojo this time in and looks well placed here to continue on with the good form. Last start, the Starspangledbanner gelding made it three-straight runner-up finishes when he beat all but one home again in a Class 4 Hcp, here over tonight’s distance. He ran that out, 3.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here. The stable have booked Zac Purton to have his first ride on the galloper who has strong claims in this contest. Five starts at this track and distance have resulted in a win and three other podium finishes and with the tearaway premiership leading jockey in the saddle, he should prove hard to beat tonight.
