Race 6 No. 3 PROOINGA- ($3.40)
PROOINGA takes this out with a change in fortunes. The five-year-old has been excellent this time in with four minor placings from five runs and should have finished closer in a number of those. He worked home solidly after a poor start in a BenchMark 64 over the 1500m at Yarra Valley on March 19 when runner-up. At his most recent start, he didn’t enjoy much room in the straight before finding clear air with 150m to go and running 3rd behind Wascaly in a BM64 at Benalla over the 1406m. The winner out of that has won three of four, while the runner-up claimed a $150,000 BM70 at the Good Friday Geelong meeting. That form looks red hot for this and from barrier 4 he should be hard to beat.

Race 3 No.8 LEICA MODEL- ($3.70)
Not a bad return by LEICA MODEL at Sale on April 2 and the Busuttin/Young galloper can go one spot better after finishing runner-up over the 1400m behind Explosive Thinker. She led them up in that race only to go down in the last 100m. The daughter of Darci Brahma will strip fitter for this and at her last preparation she was an unlucky 3rd at Sale when second up over the 1600m, improving three lengths on benchmark figures in the process. Look for her to lead or settle handy and be right in the thick of things at the business end.
