Queanbeyan Tips for Monday, December 04

Our form expert provides Queanbeyan tips for today’s horse racing at Queanbeyan Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.4  TOKYO ICE  ($2.80 with bet365)

Canberra galloper, TOKYO ICE has her third race-start today and all things going well, she looks the one to beat. Last start, the Mikki Isle mare ran an honest race at Orange when finishing a close-up fourth in a 1290m Maiden. Trapped three-wide without cover to the turn, she showed plenty of fight to remain competitive until the final 100m where the wide run and heavy track took its toll. Nick Heywood is the pilot today and fitter for those first two runs, she will take some beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.6  SHE’S JESSIE  ($5 with bet365)

The Ben Smith-trained SHE’S JESSIE is third-up today and looks in the mix as she sees the Queanbeyan track for the first time. Last start, the Territories mare showed plenty of improvement when second-up as she defied the odds in beating all but one home in a BM45 over 1200m at Canberra. From the outside gate, she was trapped four-wide without cover and looked the winner but she was nutted right on the post, having to settle for second prize that day. Twelve starts on wet tracks have resulted in eight podium finishes so conditions today look ideal. Runner-up twice in two previous third-up appearances, she looks a serious contender here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1:  No.3  WONDER BRAHMA  ($4.60 with Picklebet)

Local galloper, WONDER BRAHMA, has found his mojo and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Darci Brahma gelding surprised a few when he was sent out a $26 chance and clobbered them in a BM50 over the mile at Goulburn. With Ellen Hennessy aboard, the eight-year-old had 60.5kgs on his back and still led from barrier to box, putting 4.5 lengths on them over the line. Hennessy sticks with him today where he meets similar company and from gate four, should have little trouble finding the lead again. A repeat of that last-start effort should see him the one catch in this contest.
