BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.7  HELL

Formerly with the Tony McEvoy stable, HELL is unbeaten since arriving on the Capricorn Coast and looks all set for the hat-trick today. Last start, the Hellbent gelding made it back-to-back wins on his new home track when he destroyed a Class 1 field, here over 1200m by putting 4.5 lengths on them over the line. Jumping from the outside gate, he crossed and led on settling while setting. After setting an even pace, the end result never looked in doubt as the white-hot ($1.45) favourite put a space on them and eased over the final 100m, gave them a galloping lesson. Ideally drawn in gate two today, he maps to repeat his last-start effort with Kyle Wilson-Taylor jumping aboard as the new pilot. If he is left alone to dictate terms again, its hard to see him going down in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.13  HONKYTONK DIVA

With almost half the field withdrawn here, it makes the job that much easier for the Clinton Taylor-trained HONKYTONK DIVA to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the local galloper made it two from two here when she finished best to take out an Open Hcp over 1100m with Justin Stanley in the saddle again. This looks no harder and the extra distance here looks ideal for her at this stage. She is yet to miss a podium finish in five starts at the track, with three wins and two minor placings glowing on her resume. Stanley remains the pilot today and with a modest 54kgs to carry, she looks hard to hold out again.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4:  No.6  DIVINE OKAY

Sunshine Coast trainer, Stuart Kendrick makes the six-hour trek north up the Bruce Hwy today and here, he saddles-up DIVINE OKAY who is in great form this time in and looks well placed here to make his second look at the track a winning one. Last start, the well-bred Capitalist gelding came off four-straight podium finishes when flew home to finish fourth in a BM65, here over 1050m. Jumping from gate 10 (of11), it was a creditable performance, on debut at the Callaghan Park track. Robbie Dolan is legged aboard today for his second ride on the five-year-old who will be at peak fitness for this assignment. Drawn much better in gate five today, he maps to settle near mid-field and with a clear run to the line, he should prove hard to hold out.
