BEST BET 🏆
Race 7: No.3 DEVIL’S THROAT ($3.90 with Bet Right)
The Team Snowden-trained DEVIL’S THROAT is second-up here and looks well placed here to frank his first-up performance. Last start, the Snitzel gelding resumed off a lengthy 21-week absence when he showed no signs of fatigue as he finished best to take out a BM78 Hcp, here over 1200m. He ran that trip out, 7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. Meeting similar company here, Reece Jones sticks with him and nicely drawn in gate five, he maps for the perfect sit and fitter for that first-up win, he should prove hard to beat again.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.1 GREBENI ($3.65 with BoomBet)
Local galloper GREBENI has hit the ground running this time in and looks the testing material in this contest. Last start, the Ocean Park gelding was second-up when he finished too strong for them in a BM68 Hcp over the mile at Warwick Farm. He ran the last 600m, 7.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field, while posting the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race as well. Kerrin McEvoy has the reins for this one and fitter for two runs back, the three-year-old looks in the mix among these and will take beating.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4: No.10 HELL HATH NO FURY ($12 with Ladbrokes)
Having her first start for the Annabel Neasham stable here, HELL HATH NO FURY is second-up and looks a solid each-way chance in this contest. Formerly with Victorian trainer Danny O’Brien, the Hellbent filly was first-up and having her final start for the O’Brien stable when she finished mid-field in a Three-Year-Old Hcp over 1400m at Flemington. Beaten almost four lengths that day, she still managed to run the trip out, 7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here and a new personal best for her as well. Neasham has taken the winkers off here and has booked Tyler Schiller for the ride. Already a winner when second-up, she runs the same trip here and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this event.
