BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 2 No. 2 AUSTMARR – ($1.90)

A field of just six gallopers are in action for Race 2 and it is AUSTMARR that can step up to the plate after taking out her Maiden at Cranbourne on August 20 over the 1000m. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper was first up that day and led before finding plenty in the concluding stages to score. Second up at her initial preparation, the daughter of Exosphere was a three length improver on benchmark figures when going down in the shadows behind Axzelina, while there was a solid gap back to 3rd. She should be hard to beat. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 3 No 1 JEWEL BAY – ($4.85)

JEWEL BAY can get the job done in Race 3. The Philip Stokes-trained galloper was a winner at Morphettville when resuming before heading to Moonee Valley on August 26, going down late in the piece to finish 3rd behind Scentify. He went 3.7 lengths faster than standard in that race, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. Look for him to stalk them from barrier 3 with Thomas Stockdale to ride. He strikes at 24% for the stable, providing a 32% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 8 No. 14 GET UP GIRL  – ($5.25)

GET UP GIRL can just about make it back to back wins when she steps out in the final race of the day. The lightly raced four-year-old has won two of four and resumed with a solid win at Cranbourne, coming from well back to overhaul Bifrost in a BenchMark 70 over the 1000m. She comes in for her second run since the spring carnival last year and was a 7.1 length improver when second up in that preparation to place at Listed level over the 1400m at Flemington. The Clinton McDonald-trained galloper sticks to the 1000m and draws to save ground from the inside barrier.
