Race 1 No. 6 COUNT NICHOLAS- ($2)
COUNT NICHOLAS can get the job done in the opener at Seymour. The three-year-old from the Anthony and Sam Freedman stables has had four career starts for two minors and hasn’t quite seen out the 1200m in his two runs this time in, finishing 3rd at Pakenham. He looked the winner at Geelong last time before just being gunned down late in a thrilling three-way go. The son of Toronado went 1.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark in that race, which is 3.5 lengths better than what any horse in this race has produced and seven lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. Ben Allen rides and should have him right in contention from barrier 6.

Race 3 No 5 CAPRE OMNIA – ($2.90)
Nice debut effort from CAPRE OMNIA on March 19 at Swan Hill and the Mitchell Freedman-trained galloper can go very close based on that performance. He was last of the 14 runners and balanced up at the top of the straight before storming home and just missing over the 1200m. He will strip fitter for this and might land a little closer in the run from the better barrier. The son of Headwater will take some beating.
