BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.3  CHANGE THE DEEL

The Stuart Kendrick-trained CHANGE THE DEEL has done everything but win this time in and fitter for two runs back today, looks set to make it happen in this contest. Last start, the Dundeel gelding had his second consecutive run on the poly-track here where he ended up with a second-straight runner-up reward, beating all but one home in a BM65 over 1400m. He finished strongly that day which sees Kendrick put him over a little more ground today. Leading rider, James Orman is the new pilot for this assignment and despite drawing the outside gate, maps to settle back in the field just the same. Down in grade today and fitter for two runs back, he looks the testing material for this event.

Race 2:  No.4  ON HOLD

The David Vandyke-trained ON HOLD is third-up today and looks well placed to strike at her first run on the Corbould Park track. Last start, the Headwater mare was second-up and showed a ton of improvement when she hung on for third prize in a BM65 over 1110m at Doomben. She drops back to provincial class company today and returns to the 1000m trip where she is already a two-time winner. Ryan Maloney is back on board for today’s assignment after steering the mare to victory twice previously. Nicely drawn in gate three today, she maps to settle behind the speed with a couple of real on-pacers lining-up in this contest. She should be fighting-fit after two runs back and with a clear run to the line, prove hard to hold out.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.4  GEMELON BOLT

Chris Anderson saddles-up GEMELON BOLT here who is third-up and looking good back in provincial company today. Last start, the Falvelon gelding was second-up when he took on a strong Class 6 contest at Eagle Farm. Burning up a lot of early fuel, he crossed from his wide gate and went hammer and tong with the leader as they really slapped the speed on. Gone at the 200m mark, he still fought on gamely to finish just 2.5 lengths from the winner as a $51 chance. Coming off that city class contest, he will find things a lot easier here and will appreciate drawing a gate today as he jumps from barrier four. Fitter for those two runs back and already a two-winner when third-up, he warrants enough respect here to be considered a winning chance today.
