BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.11 ON HOLD ($3.40 with bet365)
Locally-trained by David Vandyke, ON HOLD has been in great touch this time in and looks set for another home-track win today. Last start, the Headwater filly came off a podium finish at Doomben and returned here where she finished best to win a Class 1 Plate over 1000m. She is now two from tree at the track and distance and boasts four podium finishes from her five starts at Corbould Park. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she has Ben Thompson aboard for his fifth ride on the three-year-old and with a trouble-free run here, she looks the one to beat again.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.3 SUPERARE ($8.50 with Bet Right)
The Stuart Kendrick-trained SUPERARE has found the podium on 20 occasions from his 31 career-starts and looks well placed here to add to that history of consistency today. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding travelled north to Rockhampton where he beat all but one home in Open company over 1050m. Back to his home track today, he is well drawn here in gate two and has Martin Harley back in the saddle. He is a three-time winner at the track and distance and the dry track is also a bonus today. All things going well, he looks right in the mix here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.2 HE KNOWS ($17 with Picklebet)
The Deagon-based galloper HE KNOWS resumes today and boasting a strong first-up record, ticks enough boxes here to suggest he can serve-it-up to the short-priced favourite (Hang Five) today. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding ended his last campaign by finishing sixth in a BM70 Hcp over 1300m at Toowoomba. At barrier-rise, he stood there and missed the jump by four lengths and that put paid to his chances with the race best forgotten. Back after a 13-week break, he gets the gun-run from gate one today and has Boris Thornton in the saddle for his seventh ride on the five-year-old. Six previous first-up runs have resulted in two wins and three minor placings so a forward showing on fresh legs looks very promising today. Currently at double-figure odds, he looks well worth an each-way ticket here.
