BEST BET 🏆
Race 7: No.17 PIPPIE BEACH
The Chris Waller-trained PIPPIE BEACH has impressed from her first two race starts and at the weights today, looks a serious contender for the major prize in this contest. Last start, the Maurice filly broke through for her Maiden win when she made light of it in a 1300m event at Kembla Grange. She makes her city track debut today where James McDonald takes the reins and ideally drawn in gate two, she maps to she has the opportunity to settle just about anywhere with her past two runs suggesting she could end up mid-field with cover. Up against her own sex here, the rise in grade sees her carrying 2kgs less than last start, coming in just 1kg over the limit. The three-year-old is yet to race on wet tracks but if she can handle the conditions, she looks a real winning chance here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.6 DESTINY’S DELIGHT
The Ciaron Maher-trained DESTINY’S DELIGHT has worked her way back into form and looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Proisir mare brought up career win number three when she led from barrier to box in a BM64 over 1500m at Kembla Grange when fourth-up. Today she makes her Warwick Farm debut and steps up in grade but drops 2kgs for the assignment. Dylan Gibbons returns for the ride and will be hoping for more success than his last two experiences with mare. He will be helped with an ideal draw as she jumps from gate two today and maps to settle just behind the early speed. All three career wins have come on rain affected tracks and at her peak today, she looks a super chance of victory.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.9 THE REPLICANT
Fresh off a six-month break, Joe Pride saddles-up THE REPLICANT here who ticks enough boxes to be considered a solid each-way chance in this contest. Last start, the Tivaci gelding ended his last campaign finishing second in a BM72 over 1550m at Canterbury with Adam Hyeronimus in the saddle. That was back in November and since then he has been in the paddock. He has trialled twice in preparation for his return today and has Hyeronimus in saddle as well. His wet-track record is nothing short of outstanding, boasting one win and four runner-up finishes from his five starts on heavy tracks. He comes up with gate three today which has him settling near mid-field with cover. Pride has removed the blinkers for this event and with a trouble-free run today, he can figure in the finish at good odds.
