Horsham Racing Tips 27 April 2026
There are cards where you lean on class, cards where you lean on speed maps, and then there are Horsham cards where you just follow the riders who consistently make the right decisions around this big, open circuit. Today feels like the latter. You have a couple of jocks who simply ride Horsham well, and in maidens like these, that matters more than people like to admit.
This meeting is three races on turf, all maidens, and that usually means guesswork. But we can still get paid if we separate the runners who have shown they can sustain a run from the 600m, from those that just flash late when it is all over. I have kept it opinionated and practical: who I would back, who can beat them, and where I would keep my money in my pocket. These Horsham racing tips are written like you and I are standing at the mounting yard, not staring at a spreadsheet.
Horsham, the setup today
We do not have deep horse course profiles across the fields. Most of these runners have only one Horsham run at most, so treat any course placing as a single data point rather than a trend.
Where the track angle does bite is through the riders. Two names stand above the rest on volume at Horsham: W Gordon has 7 rides here for 3 wins and 6 placings, and John Allen has 6 rides for 1 win and 4 placings. That is enough sample to trust they generally put horses in the right lanes and at the right time.

Race-by-race Horsham predictions
Race 1: Bet365 Top Finishes Mdn Plate — 13:30, 1203m
Wyandra looks the right horse to build around because her form says she is ready to win a maiden, not just run another honest placing. The sequence of 24-722 is the profile of a filly who keeps finding the line, and the step to 1203m suits a runner who has been around the mark without having to be cuddled into it. She draws 10, which is not a gift, but in a race that lacks obvious pace monsters, I am happy to back the horse with the most reliable “turn up and run” profile.
The booking of MS L J Meech also grabs me. She has only one ride at Horsham on the numbers we have, so I am not hanging a “track specialist” tag on her, but she did place on that single visit. In maidens, having a rider who can judge when to go is half the battle.
The danger is Cool Bee Bee. He has placed in three of his four runs before that last-start 7th, and John Allen is a proper Horsham rider with 4 placings from 6 rides here. If Cool Bee Bee finds the fence and gets the economical run, he can absolutely pinch it.
Play: Win bet Wyandra. If you want cover, save on Cool Bee Bee for small stakes.
Race 2: Cellarbrations Horsham Special Ballot Mdn Plate — 14:00, 1312m
This is the puzzle on the card: do you take the exposed maidens who keep finding one better, or do you trust a stable placement that says “today is the day”?
I want to be with Miss Deceiver. She is trained by C Maher, and while Horsham is not a track where we have huge volumes for every stable, Maher has 2 runners here in the sample and has won with one of them. That is not a trend, but it does tell you the stable does not waste bullets when it shows up. Miss Deceiver also draws gate 2, and in a big maiden field that alone is worth a length or two in saved ground.
The horse I respect as the one who could make the “right run” and beat her is Watt On Earth. His form line 525-25 screams that he is reliable, and Cian Macredmond rides Horsham as well as anyone: 4 rides, 2 wins, and he has hit the frame every time. If Macredmond lands one-out one-back, you will know by the 600m whether the favourite is in trouble.
I am happy to risk a couple that look stuck in the same gear: Libby Ann (242446) keeps giving you a sight, but she also keeps finding one or two better, and she is drawn 6 where she may have to do a little work to hold a spot.
Play: Win bet Miss Deceiver. Quinella Miss Deceiver with Watt On Earth if you are playing multiples.
Race 3: Farm Frites Mdn Plate — 14:30, 1531m
The market will probably gravitate to the obvious “consistent” runners, but I want to start with the shape. This 1531m maiden has a stack of horses who like to find a position rather than lead, and that often turns Horsham into a long build-up from the 800m where the horse that sustains a run wins it, not the one that sprints for 150m.
Convaaya is the one I want onside. The 5204- profile reads like a horse that has already shown enough talent to win a maiden, and now gets the right trip to let that talent breathe. He is a 3yo against older maidens, but he gets the age weight edge (130.0) and draws 8 where Cian Macredmond can stay out of trouble and slide into the moving line when it matters. Macredmond’s Horsham record is strong enough to trust: 4 rides, 2 wins, and he has not missed the frame in those four.
The danger is The Lady Venus. She has been running into the money (7-5633) and draws 5, which gives her the chance to stalk the right backs. If this turns into a sit-and-sprint, she is the type that can lift quickly.
Of the others, Cape Radstock is a watch: he carries 125.6 with John Allen, and he has one previous Horsham run where he finished 5th. One run is not enough to label him anything at the track, but Allen is the kind of rider who can make a limited-form horse look better than it is.
Play: Win bet Convaaya. If you are playing each-way, The Lady Venus makes sense as the saver because she keeps putting herself in the finish.

The plays
NAP: Convaaya (Race 3, 14:30). I want the horse suited by the 1531m at Horsham and the rider who rides the track like it is home. Macredmond is 2 wins from 4 rides here and has placed on every visit, and Convaaya looks the one most likely to keep rolling when others flatten out.
Value: Miss Deceiver (Race 2, 14:00). Low draw, stable that does not show up for sightseeing, and this looks a very winnable maiden if she holds a spot early.
Banker for multis: Wyandra (Race 1, 13:30) to run top 3. Her form says she turns up and gives you a sight.
Each-way angle: The Lady Venus (Race 3, 14:30). She keeps finding the placings, and this race does not look deeper than her usual grade.
Course angle to keep in your pocket: when you are torn in a Horsham maiden, lean into the riders with real volume here. Gordon and Allen do not need luck to get horses into the right parts of the track. Next Horsham meeting, I will be watching how the market treats those two when they jump on a progressive 3yo with upside.

Shop around with the major books when markets open. At the time of writing, we did not have live odds available for these Horsham races through the odds feed, so checking prices close to jump time is the sensible move. You can also compare fixed odds versus tote if the pools look healthy.
