Muswellbrook Racing Tips 12 June 2026 — can Neasham land the double?
Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald don’t turn up to Muswellbrook for a day out. They’ve got two live chances across the maidens, and their overall record here is strong enough to treat it as intent, not coincidence: 23 runners for 5 wins and 12 placings at the track. That sort of strike, at a country meeting where plenty are just making up numbers, matters.
This Muswellbrook meeting (Friday, 12 June) gives us four races on the turf, and it reads like a card where a couple of stables can control the day with placement and jockey bookings rather than raw ratings. The market odds feed wasn’t available at publish time, so this is form-first Muswellbrook racing tips: we’re leaning on profiles, barriers, and the few course angles that actually have sample size behind them.
If you’re time-poor, you’ll get two things from reading on. First: which races look bettable versus pure watch jobs. Second: where the stable power sits, because Muswellbrook can reward the connections who target it.
Muswellbrook — the setup
We’re on turf and, with no going provided in the racecards, I’m treating it as a typical Muswellbrook day where position and clean runs matter more than hero moves from the 800m. The bigger story is that course history is thin across today’s fields. Most runners have only one or two previous starts here, so I’m not crowning “track specialists” off a single visit.
The two course angles I will respect because they’ve got volume behind them are the Neasham and Archibald yard and the Messara and Gavranich stable. The latter have the standout Muswellbrook record on today’s page: 12 runners here for 5 wins. It’s not a cheat code, but it’s a genuine edge at this venue.
Jockey note with real sample size: Aaron Bullock rides Muswellbrook as well as anyone in this riding room. He’s had 9 rides here for 2 wins and 7 placings, so when he finds a spot from a tricky gate, I’m prepared to believe him.

Race-by-race: Muswellbrook tips and previews
Race 1: Asahi Mdn Plate — 12:15, 1400m
The contender here is Mega Pixel. The form line doesn’t scream “moral”, but it does scream “right race”: he was around the money last prep (233) before a fresh run that looks like a tune-up, and he now gets Aaron Bullock, who consistently makes Muswellbrook work for him. From gate 8 Bullock will have to earn it, but this 1400m maiden doesn’t look stacked with finishers.
I’m happy to take on the obvious stablemate angle and treat Firey Truth as a place threat rather than the answer. The 3 at the head of his form reads well, but he’s mixed it since (3-766), and from barrier 6 he’s likely needing the race run to suit.
The danger I actually respect is the two-year-old Blackstone Plaza getting in light (124.5). He’s only had the one start for a third, and at this stage of the season that “has shown something once” profile can jump sharply second-up. He’s drawn gate 3, which gives Donovan Dillon every chance to land in the first half without burning petrol.
Staking: Win bet Mega Pixel. Small saver quinella with Blackstone Plaza if you want cover.
Race 2: Horsepower Country Boosted Mdn Hcp — 12:50, 1586m
This is the puzzle: who actually wants to go past them late over the odd Muswellbrook 1586m? For mine it’s Fined For Speeding. The form is the best on the page for consistency (5-42432), and the two course visits have been solid enough to trust without pretending it’s a trend: he’s placed once from two runs here and his average finishing position at the track sits around the top three. From barrier 4, D Northey can ride it like the best horse, not like a horse that needs luck.
If you’re hunting for a blowout, I don’t hate Ordinary Angel (82) with Braith Nock. Nock doesn’t win often here from a proper sample of rides, but he does put horses into the race and his Muswellbrook place rate is healthy enough to keep him onside for multiples. Gate 5 suits a horse that looks like it’ll keep improving with racing.
Redaluca Girl is the risk runner. The recent form (333-03) looks like it’s begging for a maiden, but her only Muswellbrook run was a rough one (finished well back). That’s one run, so I’m not calling it a track knock, but I do want to see her do it here before I take a short quote.
Staking: Win bet Fined For Speeding. If the price is fair, a small exacta with Ordinary Angel running second.
Race 3: Tab Country Boosted Hcp (C1) — 13:25, 1400m
The shape screams speed drawn inside, and that’s why I land on Devilish Sun. He’s a three-year-old still on the way up (4-231) and he’s got gate 1. That’s the country racing cheat sheet: progressive horse, soft run, first crack at the lane. If he holds a spot behind the leader or lands outside it without doing work, I think he just grinds past them.
The horse that scares me is Flirtation because the profile is clean: 2 starts for 2 wins (21) and she’s from the Messara and Gavranich yard, the stable that genuinely dominates Muswellbrook results when they bring a runner (12 for 5 at the course). The knock is the map. Gate 9 forces Bullock to make a decision early. He can’t ride it cold and hope for gaps if they crawl. He’ll either push forward and risk being posted, or snag and hope class carries her.
Twice Az Cool is the value-seeker’s runner. She’s coming off a win (5-2371) and carries only 119.0. If the speed horses overdo it early, she’s the one who can be launching while others are grabbing at air.
Staking: Win bet Devilish Sun. Save on Flirtation because the upside is obvious, but I don’t want to be all-in from that gate.

Race 4: Magic Millions Mdn Plate — 14:00, 1400m
The stable move is the story: Neasham and Archibald saddle two, and I want to be with Rockthevelio. Two starts for two placings (23) is the right foundation for a Muswellbrook maiden, and getting Aaron Bullock is a proper positive given his strike of placings at this course. Yes, gate 12 is ugly, but 1400m gives Bullock time to slot in rather than being trapped in a 900m burn.
The main danger is Haras. He’s already telling you he belongs around the finish (36-72) and he draws gate 7, which is the kind of starting point that lets a rider ride the race, not the barrier. If he gets cover and sees daylight at the 300m, he can absolutely turn this into a fight.
I’m leaving the Lees pair out of the top rung. That’s not a “they can’t win” call, it’s a pricing call. Lees has volume here (18 runners) but the strike rate isn’t in the Neasham league, and Frankely Sublime is coming off a pair that reads like “needs to find something” (335-40). The debutant Oh My Oh My can improve sharply, but I’d rather back a horse that’s already proven it wants to be in the finish.
Staking: Each-way Rockthevelio (the gate makes me want the place insurance). Small saver win bet Haras if your market has him close to the top pick.
The plays
If I’m spending real money at Muswellbrook, I keep it simple and I respect the stables that consistently show up here with intent.
NAP: Devilish Sun (Race 3, 13:25). Progressive 3yo profile, the inside gate, and a race shape that lets him take control instead of chasing luck.
Value: Twice Az Cool (Race 3). Light weight (119.0) and a fresh win on the page. If the leaders run along, she’s the one I want charging late.
Banker for multis: Fined For Speeding (Race 2, 12:50) to run top two or top three depending on your product. He’s been knocking on the door (5-42432) and he’s drawn to get the economical run that wins these country maidens.
Each-way play: Rockthevelio (Race 4). The Neasham and Archibald yard place their Muswellbrook runners well, and Bullock is a rider you want in a maiden when the fence run opens up.
Course angle to carry forward: when Messara and Gavranich bring a runner to Muswellbrook, treat it as a sign. If they keep targeting this track at anything like their historical strike, they’ll remain the first stable I look for every meeting.
