Clark Front Of The Congo Line

Tim Clark will be the new jockey for In The Congo if the three-year-old backs-up in Saturday’s Group 1 All Aged Stakes [1400m] at Randwick.

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained galloper ran a gutsy second in last weekend’s Arrowfield Sprint behind the flying Mazu.

The race was run well below average speed and that typically doesn’t In The Congo but it did pave the way for the son of Snitzel to rip out the second fastest last 200m of the day.

Saturday’s All Aged Stakes attracted 21 nominations with multiple Group 1 winning mares Tofane and Forbidden Love amongst them.
Clark picked up the ride on In The Congo when Tommy Berry stuck with Mounga.

Gary Portelli’s Fireburn is looking to become the first horse since Pierro to complete the 2YO Triple Crown when she lines up in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes. The Sires Produce Trifecta of Fireburn, She’s Extreme and Let’srollthedice are all expected to start.

The enigmatic Espiona is nominated to run in the James HB Carr Stakes (1400m) while the impressive Straight Aron is set to run in the Frank Packer Plate (2000m) for Chris Waller.
