Favourites draw well in the G1 George Ryder Stakes
The all-important barrier draw has been finalised for the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
All eyes were on Forbidden Love and Mo’Unga, and both have drawn well for the $1,000,000 event.
Forbidden Love, who won the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes on the quick back-up after winning the Group 2 Guy Walter has drawn barrier 2 with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.
Mo’Unga also drew well for trainer Annabel Neasham, drawing 4 and will be ridden by Tommy Berry. The gelding by Savabeel is two-from-two at the track and will be hoping to go one better after finishing second last start in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.
Converge drew barrier 10 and is a dual acceptor, while Colette drew between Forbidden Love and Mo’Unga in barrier 3.
Another leading contender, Private Eye, was also a winner at the draw, ending up with barrier 1. Regan Bayliss hoping he can steer the four-year-old to turn the tables on Forbidden Love.
