BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.9  TYSON’S DREAM

Locally-trained by Cody Morgan, TYSON’S DREAM has been in good touch of late and back on home soil today, ticks enough boxes to suggest he is a leading contender for the major prize here. Last start, the Sebring gelding was full of zip when he proved too strong in the run home, winning a BM58 Hcp over 1600m at Quirindi. Lumping 60kgs and Aaron Bullock in the saddle, he took control on straightening, and was never threatened from that point on, going on to win by a length, eased over the final 50m. Up slightly in grade today, he drops 2kgs for the contest as Bullock steers the ship once more, after steering him to victory twice previously. Ideally drawn in gate three today, he should prove hard to hold out again.

Race 8:  No.10  NOT IN DOUBT

Another from the Cody Morgan camp is NOT IN DOUBT who is in top-shelf form of late and looks poised for her third-straight podium finish today. Last start, the Sizzling mare came off a Class 2 win on this track when she found one better on the day when finishing second in a BM66 Hcp, also on this track over 1200m. Ash Morgan was aboard for both rides but is replaced today by Braith Nock, having his first ride on the mare. The four-year-old appears to have come back in great touch, having run all of her (six) races to date, here on her home track. Stepping up slightly in grade today, she drops 2.5kgs for the assignment and has drawn wide today (gate 13), but her early gate speed has her settling near mid-field with cover. A clear run to the line should see her finishing strongly again.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4:  No.1  MINDSPACE

The Sally Taylor-trained MINDSPACE has found his mojo this time in and looks all set to bring up the hat-trick today. Two starts back, the So You Think gelding made his debut appearance at Armidale a winning one when third-up, he took out a BM58 over 1900m with Luke Rolls in the saddle. Then last start, he franked that effort by going back-to-back, beating similar company over the same track and distance, winning by an even bigger margin, this time with Mitch Stapleford aboard. He gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle near mid-field (on the fence) with plenty of cover. Stapleford sticks with him here where he should be at his peak after four runs this campaign and this looks no harder. He should take beating again.
