BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 1 AIYZA – ($2.80)
Jamie Kah took the ride on AIYZA at both her latest two starts when the filly had been slow out of the gates. Aiyza showed enough speed once she hit the ground to put herself into a prominent position during both runs. She came home hard with the smart Saintorio in the Lee Steere Stakes to be beaten less than half a length at black-type level. Followed-up with a game effort over this track and trip when trapped wide throughout. Kah presented her mount from the top of the straight with Aiyza finally being claimed inside the 100 metres. Taj Dyson takes a couple of kilos off and will no doubt look to control this small field early.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3 No. 9 BISECTOR – ($2.90)
Holly Watson allowed BISECTOR to stride forward and lead under her own steam during the filly’s recent barrier trial. Bisector had them all chasing down to the 100 metres before Watson finally asked of her mount. She lengthened quickly to come away from the others again in a nice trial where she wasn’t knocked around too much while running okay time. Bisector had shown good speed throughout her first prep, and we would expect her again to be pushing forward into the race.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 3 SEBERATE – ($7)
Patrick Carbery did not ask much from SEBERATE during his trial in readiness for return. He took the older gelding straight to the front at a leisurely tempo to lead by a clear margin. He clicked him up into the straight as the challenges came, with Seberate doing enough to score on the line. Brad Parnham took the reins come race day with the pair getting back in early running as expected. Seberate will take further improvement from the run after grinding home solidly behind Hardly Ever and Real Danger. There’s good speed in this with Ginger Jones expected to keep the pressure up to Rear Admiral. This may just lend itself to allowing a tough gelding such as Seberate to be getting over them late.
