BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No.3 ZABELLSARERINGING
David Blundell saddles-up ZABELLSARERINGING here who has lately been chasing Tom Melbourne’s runner-up record but gets another chance today to end the rut and land career-win number two in this contest. Last start, the Zariz gelding found one better (for the third-straight time) when he collected second prize in a BM58 over the mile at Goulburn. That was his fifth runner-up finish in his past six starts. Kayla Nisbet returns for her fourth ride on the six-year-old and after collecting second prize twice previously, will be out to score the big one herself in this event. He does no early work from gate two and surely, this time, he can one better and collect the bacon & eggs today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.3 SINGLE ATTRACTION
The Joe Cleary-trained SINGLE ATTRACTION is in top-shelf form this preparation and looks well placed here to bring up her second career win today. Last start, the well-bred Not A Single Doubt mare made it consecutive runner-up finishes when she beat all but one to the line in a BM58 over 1000m at the Sapphire Coast. Prior to that, she won her maiden by more than five lengths on a Heavy 9 at Queanbeyan. Today, she draws wide in gate nine but her early gate speed has the mare settling mid-field with cover. Jake Pracey-Holmes is the new pilot for this assignment and already placed three times from four starts on dry tracks, the Good 4 today looks ideal. A clear run to the line should see her finishing strongly here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.8 SWILKEN BRIDGE
Trained at Forbes by Barry Molloy, SWILKEN BRIDGE was in great touch until his hiccup at Dubbo but looks well placed here to bounce back and give this a real shake at double-figure odds today. The Spirit Of Boom gelding racked-up a hat-trick of podium finishes before he saw the Dubbo track for the first time last start, where he weakened in the run home to finish unplaced in the 1000m event. Today he returns to where it all began, winning his maiden here two starts back with Mathew Cahill in the saddle that day. He is well drawn in gate four here and has Cahill as the pilot again. Already a track and distance winner, he looks a strong chance here and could surprise.
