BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.14  FLEETWOOD MACA  ($3.80 with Palmerbet)

The Eagle Farm-based galloper FLEETWOOD MACA comes in well at the weights here and after four starts back, looks right in this contest. Last start, the Rock ‘n’ Pop mare made it two wins from four starts this preparation when she came from well back to take the prize in a BM78, here over the 1350m trip. Running the fastest final 200m sectional, she also covered the last 600m, 5.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. Jaden Lloyd is now two from two with her and sticks firmly with her here. After Lloyd’s claim, she drops 5.5kgs on that win here and if she brings that form into this contest, they may find it hard to run her down.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.4  BUSTING  ($2.70 with Ladbrokes)

The Tony Gollan-trained BUSTING has made a dream start to his racing career and looks well placed here to go on with it. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom gelding was in line for a hat-trick but came across one better on the day when finishing second in a QTIS Three-Year-Old Hcp over 1200m at the Gold Coast. He ran the trip out, 1.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best only to Toronomica (who sees the track for the first time and jumps from the outside gate). Angela Jones steered him to his second win two starts back and is in the saddle here for this contest. With a trouble-free run, the three-year-old will surely make his presence felt in this line-up.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.8  INDIAN DREAMER  ($13 with Palmerbet)

The Team Edmonds-trained INDIAN DREAMER loves racing here and in top-shelf form this preparation, looks a genuine player in this contest. Last start, the Sepoy gelding made the podium for the fourth time this campaign when he took out a BM80 Hcp, here over the mile. He ran the 1600m out, 2.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best effort behind topweight, Mohican Heights, (who is seeing Doomben for the first time and resuming from a 15-week spell). Already a two-time winner at the Doomben mile, the six-year-old just needs a touch of late from the wide gate and with a clear run home, he should prove hard to hold out here at odds.
