BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.8  MISHANI ROYALE  ($2.50 with Palmerbet)

Trained at the track by Les Ross, MISHANI ROYALE has impressed greatly after three starts and looks the testing material here. Last start, the two-year-old filly made it back-to-back victories when she clobbered them in the Aquis Gold Pearl over 1100m at the Gold Coast. Ridden a treat by Ben Thompson, he had her cross and leading as they settled and set a fair pace, while under a good hold. On straightening, Thompson asked for more and the filly obliged. Showing a great turn of foot, she hit the line strongly showing no signs of yielding and went on to win by almost two lengths on the line. She comes off a seven-week freshen-up here and with Thompson sticking with her, she should prove hard to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.5  MISTER MODERATION  ($4.20 with bet365)

Yet to see the starting gates, the Team Sears-trained MISTER MODERATION did enough at his only trial to suggest he can match it with these. Ben Thompson was aboard for the Doomben trial where he lobbed in front and that was all she wrote. Setting an even pace, he railed like a greyhound on straightening and quickly put two lengths on them as Thompson had total control and even eased him nearing the line as he went on to win the trial by 1.5 lengths. He has a nice action about him as he sports winkers for his debut run and a repeat of that trial effort will see him in the thick of things here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.9  MUBARIZ  ($17 with Ladbrokes)

Chris Waller saddles-up a trio of runners here as we run with MUBARIZ who looks great value in this contest. Last start, the Dansili gelding was third-up when he showed plenty of improvement, finishing fourth, here in Open company over 1600m. He ran on stoutly over the final 400m, taking ground off the winner (Namazu) who he clashes with here again, and meets him better at the weights. Samantha Collett sticks with him here and nearing his now after three runs back, he will appreciate the extra distance and looks a genuine each-way chance in this contest.
