BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.6  LADY KAH  ($4.80 with Ladbrokes)

Goulburn galloper LADY KAH is unbeaten in two starts and looks well placed here for a hat-trick. Last start, the Duporth filly made it back-to-back wins when she made the jump from Maiden company to Class 3 and very comfortably won that 1300m contest at Goulburn. She ran her last 600m, 7.8 lengths quicker than benchmark that day, the best here and posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well. She is a promising filly who stakes solid claims for this event.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.10  DRAGONSTONE  ($6.50  with Neds)

The Mark Newnham-trained DRAGONSTONE is third-up today and his resume suggests this is when he is the most dangerous. Last start, the Japanese sired gelding may have found the firmer going (Good 3) a little too firm when finishing fifth in a tough BM100 over 1100m at Randwick. He ran home gamely but made little headway on the leaders. He covered his last 600m, 10.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, third-best here behind On The Lead and Key Largo. He boasts a 29% winning strike rate, having won four of his 14 starts (finding the podium on seven other occasions) and he is a track and distance winner as well. Tom Sherry sticks with him here and with a win and two runner-up finishes from three previous third-up runs, he is well and truly in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4:  No.8  QUICK TEMPO  ($7 with bet365)

Newcastle-based galloper QUICK TEMPO is second-up today and boasting a 42% success rate, commands plenty of respect in this contest. Last start, the Rubick gelding was on fresh legs when he wasn’t disgraced, finishing down the track in a strong BM84 Hcp over 1000m at Randwick. Beaten less than three lengths that day, he ran his final 600m, 9.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. Jason Collett has the reins here as the four-year-old draws well in gate four. Fitter for that first-up effort and already a winner when second-up, he looks right in this event at odds.
