BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.4  FIGMENT

Cody Morgan and Cobi Vitler team-up here with FIGMENT who has the runs on the board and shapes-up as the best of the day. Formerly with the Team Snowden stable, the Not A Single Doubt filly had her first start for Morgan at Armidale where on fresh legs she raced wide all the way and still went on to win her Maiden by a length over 1100m at Armidale. On a Soft 6 that day, she was trapped three-wide all the way but still finished best to grab the gold medal on the line. The extra distance today looks ideal as she gets all the favours from gate one. After Vitler’s claim, she carries 2kgs less here and with suitable conditions she looks the testing material in this field.

Race 3:  No.4  DISTANT

Tamworth trainer. Cody Morgan makes the three-hour trek to Moree today with a full float of five runners and among them is DISTANT who lines-up here in great touch and looks a serious chance at taking home the chocolates in this event. Last start, the Outreach mare came off her maiden win at Walcha when she missed another podium finish, taking home fourth prize in a Class 1 Hcp over the 900m sprint at Muswellbrook. Caught three-deep from the 600m mark, she took the turn via the cape and was caught out in no-mans-land which cost her any chance of a top-three finish that day. The four-year-old welcomes a new pilot today with Cobi Vitler taking the reins and brings a 2kg claim along. From gate four, she maps to settle in the first half dozen with cover and a clear run to the line should see her right up there today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.4  DYECAST MISSILE

The Stephen Gleeson-trained DYECAST MISSILE is second-up today and will surely improve on his first-up effort in this contest. Last start, the Smart Missile gelding was fresh off a six-month absence and having his first start for Gleeson when he botched it up at barrier rise and missed the jump by three lengths, ending his race before it began. He settled last, 15 lengths from the leaders but still showed some effort in the run home. He has had two runs on this track, winning his maiden on debut by three lengths and running a close-up third (two starts back) before changing stables. Cobi Vitler is the new pilot today, bringing along his 2kg claim and from gate three, the four-year-old maps to settle better than midfield with cover. Provided he jumps with them today, he can add to his good record and give this a shake at odds.
