BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.2  SEAHAVEN  ($1.95 with TAB)

The Paul Messara-trained SEAHAVEN has found the podium in all three starts this time in and looks perfectly placed here to continue the trend today. Last start, the Japanese-sired gelding was third-up when he beat all but one home in a BM66 Hcp over the mile at Tamworth. Grabbed on the line by a swooper, he ran the trip out, 5.4 lengths slower than benchmark, a new personal best for him and the best overall effort in this field. Aaron Bullock has steered him to both his career wins to date and is back aboard for today’s assignment. He is a little ‘skinny’ with the bagmen but he is a track and distance winner and will be rock-hard fit for this contest. He is our best for the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.3  PIRAEUS  ($3.30 with Palmerbet)

The Team Freedman-trained PIRAEUS only needed two starts before breaking through and in this line-up, looks well-placed for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Merchant Navy gelding was having his second race start when he finished best to win a 1200m Maiden Plate at Gosford. He ran his last 600m, 1.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. He also posted the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. Mitchell Bell has the reins for the first time today and from gate two, maps to settle just behind the pace. Coming off a win and fitter for two runs to date, the three-year-old looks a serious contender for the main prize here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2:  No.2  UNWRITTEN  ($3 with Palmerbet)

The Greg Hickman-trained UNWRITTEN made a successful return to the track and looks all set here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding resumed after six months in the paddock and showing no signs of fatigue, clobbered a Class 1 field over 1000m at Nowra. Putting 1.5 lengths on them over the line, he ran his last 600m, 4.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here. Stepping-up in grade today, he draws well in gate five and has Aaron Bullock returning for his second ride on the four-year-old. Fitter for that first-up win, he will take beating here.
