BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.6  DENI GAL  ($3.20 with bet365)

After a flying start this time in, DENI GAL missed the money at her past two (both in city class company) but comes back to the country today and down in grade as well, will take beating here. Last start, the Denman mare wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth (of 15) on a Class 2 Hwy Hcp over 1200m at Rosehill. Travelling wide most of the way, she finished off nicely, beaten just over a length on the line. She covered that trip, 2.8 lengths slower than benchmark (on a Heavy 8), the best effort by more than 3 lengths in this field. Now five starts into this preparation, she should be at her peak and has Shaun Guymer in the saddle (who won his only previous ride on the mare). She maps to settle just behind the pace from gate five and with the big drop in class here, looks the best of the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.7  MISS BARTY’S PARTY  ($7 with Palmerbet)

She’s been an expensive galloper to follow (costing us plenty in the past) but I’m willing to give MISS BARTY’S PARTY one more chance today. Last start, the Dream Ahead mare finished third in a BM58 Hcp over 1300m at Goulburn. That was her fifth podium finish from her past seven starts without winning. Jess Taylor was aboard that day and is patiently sticking with her today (after four previous rides, of which resulted in three minor placings). She drops back in distance here which looks a good move and maps to settle in pride of place, near mid-field. Already a winner here, maybe today is the day she turns it around.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.5  CHOISIR’S CHOICE  ($9 with Unibet)

Warwick Farm galloper CHOISIR’S CHOICE won his maiden here four starts back and fitter for three runs this time in, looks a genuine threat to this field today. Last start, the Choisir gelding finished mid-field in a BM64 Hcp over 1200m on his home track. Rated a Heavy 10 that day, he covered the journey, 3 lengths slower than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 2 lengths. Dropping back to country class company today, regular rider Kathy O’Hara is once again on board and from gate five, maps to settle in the first half-dozen. Already a winner at the track, this should be an easier assignment and he looks well worth an each-way ticket today.
