Pinjarra Tips 15/05/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 5 HISTORY WON’T CARE ($2.80)

We would be foolish not to pay head to the money that came for HISTORY WON’T CARE as he made his race debut over 1200m here a fortnight ago. As a general rule, punters should be following-up on horses who were beaten after being well-supported in their previous start. Add this rule to being backed on debut to miss by such a narrow margin and it becomes a big red flag for punters to jump on next start. History Won’t Care did not show any early speed with Clint Johnston-Porter content to lob out near the back early. The three-year-old wanted to lay-in on straightening which prompted the rider to change the whip into the left hand. The pair charged home late to just miss in a photo with the step-up to 1400m seemingly ideal.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 3 LITTLE STRAWBERRY ($6)

Ascot trainer Mitchell Pateman has a handy mare in his yard with LITTLE STRAWBERRY who is racing on the Pinjarra Scarpside for the first time on Wednesday. She will need to be handy as this is a smart field that she is taking on. Pateman has her racing second-up after getting back against her usual pattern of racing when resuming at Ascot. Lexington City had set a fast pace out in front before being chased down by #WABlackbookers horse The Boss Lady with Little Strawberry not far behind them. Those two horses have gone on to win again since while Brayden Gaerth can utilise his claim from an ideal gate for Little Strawberry tomorrow.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5 No. 8 KNOCKONEBACK ($12)

Ashley Maley will be looking for some consistency with KNOCKONEBACK who does tend to mix his form a little. Knockoneback broke his maiden after coming with a rattling run from midfield over a mile here a few starts ago. Followed that up with a close placing behind Do It Right and Sowar over this trip at Ascot which proved the strength of his win. Maley did have a throw at the stumps with Knockoneback soundly outclassed in the derby before perhaps being a little plain against the older horses in class three level. Showed himself to be back on track with a second-placing behind runaway winner Citino over this trip at Ascot last time and we cannot discount Knockoneback as he stays to class on the Scarpside.
