BEST BET 🏆

Race 2:  No.8  ALLEGORICAL  ($4.20 with Unibet)

Victorian galloper ALLEGORICAL broke through for her Maiden here and returning today, looks a solid winning chance again. Last start, the All Too Hard mare was having her sixth crack at bringing up win number one and here on a Heavy 10, she finally cracked-it. She posted a new personal best that day, running the trip out, 5.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. Conditions are very similar today and ideally drawn in a shorter trip here, she can lead this field and go on with it.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.3  RIBEAUVILLE  ($2.45 with Palmerbet)

Goulburn galloper RIBEAUVILLE makes his track debut here and third-up, looks well placed to record win number two today. Last start, the Helmet gelding showed plenty of improvement when second-up, beating all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1500m at Kembla Grange. He ran his last 600m, 1.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 5 lengths. Fitter for two runs back, he is perfectly drawn in gate two and sitting just of the speed, he will get first crack at the leaders and the chance to go on with it from there.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.4  SMILER MARSHALL  ($5.50 with bet365)

The Rob Wellington-trained SMILER MARSHALL won his only start here back in March and returns today in search of another victory. Last start, the Warhorse gelding came off five-straight podium finishes when he tackled city class company in a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1200m at Randwick. While finishing mid-field, he wasn’t disgraced, beaten just 2.5 lengths on the line. He ran his last 600m that day, 1.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 7 lengths. Back to country class racing today, he draws well in gate five and maps to settle better than mid-field. He likes it wet with seven of his ten podium finishes coming on rain affected tracks, so conditions here will be ideal. Jason Lyon returns to the saddle today after achieving three podium finishes from his five previous rides on the six-year-old. With a trouble-free run today, he can give this contest a real shake.
