Race 5:  No.4  TOURISTIC  ($5.50 with Palmerbet)

The Team Snowden-trained TOURISTIC is in top-shelf form this time in and looks right at home in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Frankel gelding came off a good win at Rosehill in BM78 company when he had to settle for third prize against a similar field, here over the 2000m trip. He settled too far back that day and gave himself little to no chance of running them down as he finished just over a length behind the winner. He comes back to the 1800m here with the stable choosing to fit the winkers for the first time. Chad Schofield was aboard for that Rosehill win and has the reins again for this assignment. If he can settle a little closer here, he should be there at the finish.

Race 6:  No.2  KING OF NAPLES  ($8 with Bet Right)

The John O’Shea-trained KING OF NAPLES has proven to be a consistent galloper in his 12-start career and looks all set for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Your Song gelding was third-up and hit his peak when he took out a BM72 Hcp over 1250m at Canterbury. He box-seated to the turn that day, then soon after, took over and held off all challenges to claim victory over the line. He has found the podium on eight occasions and has three wins on his resume as well. Nash Rawiller has his second ride on the three-year-old here and with a trouble-free run, he can make it two-straight.

Race 9:  No.12  ESTADIO MESTALLA  ($8 with bet365)

The Chris Waller-trained ESTADIO MESTALLA has been thereabouts in four starts this preparation and deserves a change of luck here. Last start, the British-sired gelding ran home well and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in a BM78 Hcp, here over 1800m. Settling mid-field early, he kept chasing and wound-up just over a length from the winner as they crossed the line. He is up in grade here but drops a generous a 5kgs for the contest. He draws nicely in gate four and maps to settle near mid-field with cover. Kerrin McEvoy is legged aboard for the first time and with a clear run to the line, he can give this a real shake at odds.
