BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.4  NEGOTIATIONS

The Ciaron Maher-trained NEGOTIATIONS won his first three starts before hitting a hurdle last start but looks well placed here to bounce back in a big way. The well-bred I Am Invincible gelding faced a serious rise in class last start as he took on a BM78 Hcp over 1000m at Wyong. In a fast-run race, he drew wide (gate 10), settling in the back half of the 11-strong field and rounding the turn was more than a dozen lengths off the pace. Posing as no chance of a podium finish, he ran home one-paced and that run is best forgotten. He gets the gun-run today from gate one as Ash Morgan sticks with him for this assignment. Three starts into this campaign and the step-up to the 1200m looks ideal for him today. Down in class and going off his first three runs, he looks good value here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.4  AWESOME WONDER

The John O’Shea-trained AWESOME WONDER is second-up today and looks well placed here to bring up a fifth career win in this contest. Last start, the Galileo mare resumed off a lengthy 31-week break when she did well to finish fourth in a BM78 over 1800m on Randwick’s Kensington course. Spotting them eight lengths as they turned, she reduced the margin by half as they crossed the line. Fitter for that hit-out, she draws well in gate three and maps to settle near mid-field with cover. Tyler Schiller steered her to victory in her last race before hitting the paddock (last campaign) and returns for this assignment. Already a winner at the trip and placed previously when second-up, she can figure here today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.4  CROSS YOUR HEART

Another from the John O’Shea stable is CROSS YOUR HEART who is shooting for the hat-trick today and looks a solid each-way chance in this event. Last start, the Deep Field filly went back-to-back when she proved too strong in a BM64 over 1200m at Wyong. Settling one out, one back, she enjoyed the run of the race to the turn, then eased off heels, she took over soon after and cruised to a comfortable win, running the trip in a nippy 1:09.6. Anna Roper is the new pilot today and after her 3kg claim, the filly carries 2kgs less than last start. She jumps from barrier eight here and maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. If she can secure a clear run home, the three-year-old looks every chance of taking this out at good odds today.
