BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 1 RAINBIEL – ($5.25)
Trainer Anthony Chibnall has the flashy chestnut mare RAINBIEL set to win first-up at Mornington Racecourse on Wednesday. Hopefully we can see the best of Rainbiel who has been plagued with a stop-start career despite showing glimpses of real talent. Hot form throughout her 3yo season culminated with a run in the G2 Tobin Bronze where she finished close-up to Beau Rossa at Morphettville. Chibnall then tipped her out before bringing her back to score first-up as a 4yo at Swan Hill. That same prep saw Rainbiel take out the Listed Black Pearl Stakes over this trip at Geelong a few starts later. Rainbiel has shown herself to be forward in her prep while winning a jumpout either side of her successful barrier trial. Should land in a good spot for Madison Lloyd and be there for a long way.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 2 HELL HOUND – ($6.75)
This will take a good ride from Celine Gaudray to get up on HELL HOUND at Mornington on Wednesday. Hell Hound was always towards the back while racing on the inferior inside ground at Morphettville. She was resuming in the Listed Redelva Stakes which was run at a muddling pace and eventually won by I’mlovin’ya who led throughout. Ben Price found his path blocked at every turn as he attempted to find clear running back towards the fence. Eventually Price just had to sit up and let Hell Hound to essentially go around without having a run. Mick Price & Michael Kent have kept their filly to the mark with a recent jumpout and will cross their fingers for better luck in running.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 8 PASHEONA – ($9.50)
Ciaron Maher & David Eustace head to Mornington Racecourse on Wednesday with last start winner PASHEONA. The mare carries plenty of race fitness into the event as well as top former Western Australian apprentice Luke Campbell. Pasheona will derive plenty of confidence after breaking her maiden over 1450 metres at Kilmore last start. She box-seated behind the leaders before shouldering into the clear and powering through the heavy conditions. There really doesn’t appear to be any pressure in tomorrow’s race. Pasheona is drawn to gain a run on the speed with Campbell utilising his claim on what is currently a Soft 6 track.
