BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.7 ANAGAIN ($2.80 with Bet Right)
The Joe Pride-trained ANAGAIN is third-up today and with impressive runs at her past two starts, now looks ready to win. Last start, the Hinchinbrook mare stepped up in grade and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in the BM78 event over 1200m at Rosehill. She ran her final 600m, 9.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here. Brett Prebble has been on board for both runs this time in and sticks with the mare today. Back on home soil and down in grade again, she looks well paced here to get the job done today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.1 INSURRECTION ($2.25 with Ladbrokes)
The Michael Freedman-trained INSURRECTION is fresh off a 10-week break today and looks well placed here to put in a solid a first-up effort in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Russian Revolution gelding enjoyed a successful campaign with three-straight podium finishes until he finished it off with an unplaced effort in the Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill. The competition was just a little too rich that day but he did run the 1200m out, 6 lengths quicker then benchmark, the best in this field. Since then, he has won a recent trial at Randwick. The stable have engaged apprentice Jasper Franklin for today’s assignment, hoping his 3kg claim will ease the burden of the 62.5kgs allocated to the three-year-old. Yet to miss a top-three finish from three previous first-up appearances, he looks in the mix here today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.7 DREAM HOUR ($6.10 with BoomBet)
Kris Lees saddles-up DREAM HOUR here who sees the Warwick Farm track for the first time but four starts in he looks a solid chance of giving this contest a real shake at odds today. Last start, the Dawn Approach gelding was fourth-up when he beat all but one home in a BM72 Hcp over the Rosehill 1500m trip. Settling well back early, he was still last on the turn and spotting the leader eight lengths. Dylan Gibbons had him wound-up and he finished like a freight train but just gave the winner too much start. He ran his last 600m, 5.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field and not surprisingly, he posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race as well. A repeat of that performance here could see him take the glory in this event.
