BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 12 SWEAR SHES PERFECT – ($2.90)
The Simon Zahra trained SWEAR SHES PERFECT goes around at Pakenham Racecourse on Friday with a strong start price profile, testing the patience of punters. This would seem a thin maiden as compared to what she’s been racing against of late. Zahra did try her out to a mile on the turf here at Pakenham two runs back. Swear Shes Perfect mustered through along the rails to find a position behind the speed. Thought Daniel Stackhouse may have been a little impatient in hitting the front on her soon after straightening. The mare battled away and did well to finish amongst the placings. Seemed to struggle for rhythm when coming back to the seven furlongs at Echuca last start. Swear Shes Perfect kept trying and put in a strong last furlong. Should think the synthetic will suit and we’ll watch for Mathew Cartwright to build into the race on Swear Shes Perfect.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 2 RACE CARD – ($4.80)
We’ll continue to follow the Simon Zahra stable as Daniel Stackhouse climbs aboard RACE CARD in a race of few chances. Race Card is a first-up winner here already and there should be enough pressure in front to suit. Blaike McDougall asked him to come back from his wide gate in the big field over 1400m when resuming last time in. The pair were still near last at the 400m before unleashing a powerful turn of foot to record a big win out wide. Didn’t show a great deal in his jumpouts leading in which is a similar story here. Would love for this to also be 1400 metres; however, the small field with good pressure on suits and Race Card can be getting over the top of them late.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 5 KNENTII – ($8.60)
Jason Maskiell can give dour staying type KNENTII the run of the race from a perfect draw. Knentii has been consistent of late as Cranbourne trainer Gavin Bedggood has been able to get him out to a trip. Jake Duffy had the three-year-old in a midfield position over 2046m at Benalla three runs back. Knentii continued to build out wide for him to run into the placings. We’ll forget he went around after that run when Knentii blundered at the start. Kept coming from a similar midfield position over 2400m at Bendigo last time and Knentii may benefit from a positive ride out of the gates with his first try on the synthetic.
