Jack Bruce saddles-up DENIED here who is having just her second start for the stable and looks the one to beat in the small field today. Last start, the No Nay Never mare spotted the race favourite (Platinum Lies) six lengths on the corner and did a mighty job to finish second, just a neck away over the line in a Class 1 over 1200m on the Gold Coasts’ synthetic track. Already a winner when second-up, the four-year-old has Emily Lang as the new pilot today who brings a 1.5kg claim along. Drawn nicely in gate three, she maps to be box-seating here and fitter for that first-up run, will take plenty of beating in this contest.

Race 4:  No.3  SEERESS

The Leigh Wanless-trained SEERESS is unbeaten at Corbould Park and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Nostradamus mare made it back-to-back wins on the synthetic surface here when she clobbered a BM58 field over the 2000m. She meets similar company here but is dropping back to the mile trip today. Olivia Webb is the new pilot and after her claim, the mare carries just 56.5kgs which is more than reasonable for a back-to-back winner. She maps to settle mid-field from gate four and with a trouble-free run today, looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 2:  No.2  HE’S ESSENTIAL 

The Natalie McCall-trained HE’S ESSENTIAL is now in great touch after six starts this time in and every box is ticked here that suggests he is the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the well-bred I Am Invincible gelding continued to show a liking for the synthetic track when he won a BM58, here over 1400m. Leading from barrier to box, he showed great fighting spirit to ward off the challenges and hang on to claim the major prize with Nikita Beriman aboard. Seven starts on the poly track have now resulted in two wins and three minor placings so its safe to say the four-year-old enjoys racing on the surface. Already a track and distance winner and with Beriman remaining in the saddle today, he should find the front from gate four and prove hard to run down again.
