Race 7 No. 6 BOSS ($4.20)

Gosford Trainer Adam Duggan prepared BOSS for a first-up run at Hawkesbury off the back of two handy trials under Koby Jennings. Jennings took the ride for resumption where Boss was just okay away before hunting through and sitting just behind the speed. He was a little strong on the bridle while fresh yet challenged the leader strongly into the straight. Those two had a great tussle before Boss got the better inside the 75m, only to be set upon by Boomsong who hit the front close to the line. Duggan then threw to Rachael King who hunted Boss to an early lead despite the gelding being tardily away. The pair never gave the rest a chance as Boss kicked away on turning to win over this track and distance. King stays aboard as Boss stays to class and has drawn perfectly again.

Race 6 No. 2 OTTILIE ($3.40)

Jason Deamer utilised the 1.5kg claim of Zac Lloyd who rated OTTILIE a treat out in front when winning third-up over this track and distance. Ottilie then tried to stretch out over 1400m in a BM78 at Randwick where she wasn’t disgraced in finishing less than two lengths from the winner. Comes back to the same class level she won at here two starts back. Adam Hyeronimus jumps on board now without the availability of Lloyds claim. This does stick in the mind somewhat; however, it’s hard to believe that 2kgs would have stopped Ottilie from winning that day. Race strength from the win is okay with the placegetters consistent leading up to that race and both have run second in similar class again.

Race 1 No. 1 ENCAP ($6.50)

Local trainer Gary Portelli sent ENCAP around over this track and distance and was perhaps left ruing a race that got away. ENCAP left Warwick Farm Racecourse as the clear black booker of the latest meeting here as Dylan Gibbons found no luck from the top of the straight. Undivided put the race to bed inside the furlong as Encap was just balancing up after circling off the heels of the field. Gibbons sent his mount out after the winner to no avail, just missing by the barest of possible margins. Tyler Schiller takes the mount here, and we don’t mind the wide gate for Encap who gets his chance to atone as he steps out to the 1200m.
