Cranbourne Tips for Thursday, September 21

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 7 No. 1  LANG PARK- ($2.35)

LANG PARK can go on with the job in Race 7. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper has had the two career starts and took out his Maiden in style on September 5 at Benalla, winning by two lengths from The Big Shamrock, while there was a five length gap back to 3rd. The runner-up out of that has since come out and won. Lang Park went 1.5 lengths slower than standard last time, which is the best last start figure of any runner. He should have improvement to come at his third start and draws perfectly in barrier 2.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 5 No 11 WOMANIZER- ($5.10)

WOMANIZER can go close in Race 5. The Busuttin & Young galloper has had the two career starts and finished well back over the 1300m on debut at Cranbourne before showing improvement when stepping up to the 1717 at Sale on September 10, finishing 4th behind Dupoint. He settled handy in that race before sticking on to go 5.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner and better than the class average. He looks to be on an upward trajectory and gives the impression that the step to the 2080m should suit.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 6 No 1 LA CARESSE- ($15)

LA CARESSE is an each-way contender in Race 6. The six-year-old battled in harder company than this in the early stages of his preparation and was unsuited when back on a leader dominated track and Moonee Valley two starts ago. He headed to Adelaide after that and stuck on well for 5th behind Chicago Storm in a Benchmark 70 Saturday race on August 19. The Michael Huglin-trained galloper needs a bit of racing to get going in his campaigns but should be full of fitness now. Worth noting that he has had two runs at the track and trip for a win and a minor placing. The 3kg claim gets him down to a competitive weight.
